Change= starts construction of 600 new rental apartments in Amsterdam
The apartments have a rental price of 585 euro per month. In line with the concept of Change = residents will be able to use various shared facilities such as a laundry bar, flexible workplaces, a restaurant and a gym. The building is expected to be realised by the end of 2018 after which the first tenants will be able to move in. Housing shortage among young people Ralph Mamadeus, initiator and CEO van Change=: “Working young adults are a ‘forgotten’ group on the Dutch housing market. Research shows that lack of housing of this group is an important factor in the development of their business career. At work, the sick leave among this group is significantly higher than the national average. Our goal is to create affordable housing for this target group and to contribute to future prospects of young workers, in Amsterdam and the other G4 cities of the country". The demand for affordable homes for young adults is high. Change= has already received over 2,000 requests on their website. The first complex of Change= on the August Allebéplein in Amsterdam will soon be completed and is fully let. The municipality of Amsterdam has played an important role in realising the Change= project. ABN AMRO has taken care of the financing. The project will be realised by BAM Wonen. Capital Value advises Change= on the sale of the complex, in cooperation with Loyens & Loeff. For more information on this unique living concept, please do not hesitate to contact Marijn Snijders.
