Housing corporation Vestia will be focusing on its core business in the regions of Rijnmond and Haaglanden and for that reason is offering a large portion of its property outside of these regions for sale.
Vestia starts with sale of large residential portfolio
The portfolio involves a total of approximately 6,595 units distributed among three subportfolios. • A total of 49 residential complexes which can be deregulated (approx. 1,573 homes) • A total of 88 complexes of social housing (approx. 3,922 residences) • 106 care facilities (approx. 1,100 units) About the care facilities These are what is known as Thomashuizen ("Thomas Houses") and Herbergiers ("Innkeepers"). They are generally listed buildings, characteristic houses and converted farmhouses located in attractive and quiet areas in the Netherlands. Thomas Houses are innovative assisted living facilities for adults and young adults with intellectual disabilities. The first Thomas House was opened in 2004. Thomas Houses accommodate eight adults and young adults with intellectual disabilities, supervised by the health professionals who manage the house. "Herbergiers" are assisted living facilities for people with memory problems – including Alzheimer’s and dementia patients – who can no longer live independently. Approximately 16 people live in each Herbergier home. The health professionals also live in the Thomas House and the Herbergier home, in the private quarters.
Procedure
Although Vestia’s preference is for bids on the entire portfolio, offers on subportfolios or individual complexes will be considered. Interested parties are invited to issue a bid before 14 May 2014 at 10.00 a.m. The disclaimer and sales process as prepared by Houthoff Buruma apply to the proposed sale and are available from Capital Value upon request. The sale of corporation housing is governed by regulations, including the Circular Letter on the Sale of Housing Corporation Homes. More information: capitalvalue.nl/vestia
